Born in Santo Domingo, Alberto Leyba came to the United States at the age of 10. After graduating high school and trying his hand at flying, Alberto set his sites on the hospitality industry.
His first position was managing The Lipstick Cafe under the direction of Jean George Vongerichten. He also served as part of the front of the house staff at the legendary restaurant Vong.
At the urging of his former co-worker, Philippe Gouze, Alberto came north to manage Blue Hill Café. The most recognizable face within the Center, Alberto handily make countless lattés and farm sandwiches each day.
