Hannes grew up in the vineyard ladened outskirts of Vienna, Austria. Spending much of his childhood working in his family's café, on his tante's farm and around his cousin's vineyard taught him to love and appreciate his relationship with ingredients, the land and soil.
After finishing his apprenticeship as a cook and waiter, Hannes spent time in Switzerland and on the "high seas", and completed his hospitality degree at César Ritz College. Hannes has managed events and dining rooms throughout New York City.
A shipboard romance introduced Hannes not only to his wife Jennifer, but to his wife's home and his other love, the Hudson Valley. Jennifer and Hannes live in Highland Mills with their two young daughters.
