Peter grew up outside of Ames, Iowa on his family’s farm where he was the designated “milker” of their 20-head Jersey herd. Through his involvement in 4-H, Peter found enjoyment in cooking, gardening, and animal husbandry, but always dreamed of having his own restaurant on the farm. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Hotel Administration. While at Cornell, Peter took some time off to work with Blue Hill at Stone Barns as a F.A.R.M.S. Apprentice, further cementing the intersection of farms and food in his life. Upon completion of the 6-month program, he returned to Cornell to finish his degree and took a job at The Statler Hotel on campus as a beverage manager. Most recently, Peter spent a year helping develop and raise funds for a training café in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
A country boy at heart, Peter enjoys living in the Hudson Valley and exploring the farms and parks while having his friends minutes away in Manhattan.
